Irene Sembach

Round Lake Heights, IL/Lodi - Irene R. Sembach, age 85, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011. She was born on July 26, 1926 in Wheaton, Illinois, the daughter of Frederick and Pearl Gruendemann and moved to Lodi where she was raised. She was a 1944 graduate of Lodi High School . Irene married Edward J. Sembach, Jr. on March 9, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Round Lake Heights, IL., where they raised their family. After retiring from the Round Lake School system, Irene and Edward settled in their summer home on Lake Wisconsin. Irene was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, but loved most the time with her family. Survivors include her children, Sherri (Michael) Mark, Deborah (Lou) Guido, Stacy (John) Inglat and Scott (Kathleen) Sembach; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Midge (Thomas) Buckley and Vivien (Wallace) Simons; her brother Philip (Linda) Gruendemann and other relatives and friends. In addition to Edward, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Alan. Funeral services will be held at the ZION UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 130 Locust St. , Lodi at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 with Rev. Scott Walters presiding. Burial will follow in Garden Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
