Dolores O. Hobbs
Obituary
Hobbs, Dolores O. "Dea" LAKE MILLS-Dolores O "Dea" Hobbs, 67, went to start her new life with Jesus on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. She ended her fight with ovarian cancer at home and passed peacefully with the active assistance of HospiceCare staff. Deas gift for teaching was appreciated and recognized by her students, parents and colleagues. She served as a special education teacher in the Racine, Greenwood, Wausau and Deerfield schools in Wisconsin. Dea excelled as a mother and friend partly because of her warm heart, patience and strong, unfailing hope. Her faith in God never left her as she dealt with the pain, discomfort and uncertainty that was part of her two and a half year fight with cancer. In her spare time, Dea enjoyed colorful, fragrant things and as well as bridge and golf. She could often be found volunteering at activities sponsored by The Arc-Dane County. Dea is survived by her loving husband, Ken of Lake Mills; her son, Sean of New Orleans; her brother, Joseph P Orler of Weirton, W.V.; and her sister, Karen Orler of Weirton, W.V. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Highland Memory Gardens, Cottage Grove Road. The family wishes to thank the wonderful, caring medical staff at the Paul T. Carbone Cancer Center at UW Hospitals. You do miracles and we pray for you each day. Thanks also go to Deas friends and colleagues for the support during her fight with cancer. Special thanks to the staff at HospiceCare Inc., without which we could not have achieved her peaceful passing at home. Ken, Sean, Joe & Karen,
While I haven't seen Dolores in many years, the memory of her will always be in my mind. Her classic beauty, caring personality and wonderful wit are something you can't forget! My sympathies to all of you. I know how difficult it is.
All my best,
Cousing Mike
