Alyce Lynch

Lynch, Alyce A. MCFARLAND - Alyce A. Lynch, age 82, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born Sept., 12, 1924, in Edgerton, the daughter of Magnus and Bertha Johnson. Alyce married Humphrey "Jerry" Lynch on Feb. 1, 1950. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1942, living with Thorvold and Tilla Hellum during her high school years. Alyce worked for Manchesters in the accounts receivable department. She and Jerry moved to Darlington in 1977, where she was Lafayette County Shamrock club president and was also the Irish Rose. Both Alyce and Jerry were active in the Dane and Lafayette County Democratic party with many leadership roles. Alyce was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. They returned to Dane County in 2004 and became members of Christ the King Catholic Church. Alyce is survived by her husband, Humphrey "Jerry" Lynch; daughter, Geralyn (Roger) Slack of Stoughton; son, Humphrey ?Joe? (Ann) Lynch of Mukwonago; six grandchildren, Sheryl and Shane Spensley, Alycia and Greta Slack and John and Cecelia Lynch; brother, Chester (Helen) Johnson of Stoughton; half sister, Lorraine Foye; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine McCann of Madison; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin, Russell, Edward, Howard, Earl, Clarence and Stanley Johnson; and sisters, Evelyn Nelson and Helen Dahl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5306 Main St., McFarland, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, with Father D. Stephen Smith presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, and also at the church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials can be made to HospiceCare Foundation or to Christ the King Church for mission trip purposes.
