A.J. Feifarek

Feifarek, A. J. "Duff" MADISON - A. J. "Duff" Feifarek, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. He was born on March 25, 1921, in Peshtigo, to Adolph and Minnie Feifarek. He married Mary Fordyce on May 25, 1943. Duff served as an instructor for the U.S. Army during World War II. He completed undergraduate and law degrees at UW-Madison, and then taught law at the University of Arkansas from 1943 until 1946. He returned to Wisconsin, served as an Assistant Attorney General before beginning a successful career in private practice in Madison, most recently associated with James Bakken and Paul Taylor. Duff loved to play golf, downhill ski, and was a long time member of Blackhawk Country Club. He was a loyal supporter of Badgers sports throughout his life. Duff is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Cathi Van Ness, Michael (Mary Pat) Feifarek, and Nancy (Larry) Cohn; grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Feifarek, and Lauren, Trisha, and Tyler Cohn; and brothers, Glen (Orie), and Kenneth (Ruth). He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Myron. Duff requested that no service be held.
