Karen Louise (Sargent) Anderson

Anderson, Karen Louise (Sargent) RIVERVIEW, MICH./ MADISON - Karen Louise (Sargent) Anderson, age 59, died on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006. She was born on Feb. 25, 1947, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Loyal and Catherine (Mancl) Sargent. Karen graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1965 and Madison Area Technical College in 1968, with an associate degree in information technology. She married James Lowell Anderson on April 28, 1972, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Monona. Karen worked at DTE Energy in Detroit, Mich., for 20 years, as a senior project manager in information technology, and software and development integration. She was a member of St. Cyprians Catholic Church, Riverview, Mich. Karen is survived by her husband, James Anderson; a son, Scott; a daughter, Marisa (fiance, Denny Faith) Anderson; her parents; a brother, Gerry Sargent (Laurie Girard) of Spring, Texas; and sisters, Beverly (Joel) Morrison of Reston, Va. and Venice, Fla., Marilyn (Dennis) Fuller of Cottage Grove, Pat (Steve) Olson of McFarland, Sandy (Jack) Finkel of Fitchburg, Mary (John) Harker of Madison, Sue (Don) Guess of Madison, Shelley (Mike) Schwartz of Sun Prairie, Julie (Rick) Johnson of Madison, and Deanne (Andy) Casey of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Robert and Kenneth Sargent. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Michigan, Pancreatic Cancer Research Clinic.
