Obituary

Clary, LaVonne "Bonnie" MADISON - LaVonne Vivian "Bonnie" Clary, age 82, of Madison, died in the loving care of her children, at her home, on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006. LaVonne Wold was born on Dec. 23, 1923, in Madison. She and Roy Clary were married on Jan. 23, 1948. Bonnie dedicated her life to the noblest of professions, motherhood and family-hood. She helped raise a number of her grandchildren and became the surrogate mother for many of her nieces and nephews whose mothers died young. Bonnies sisters were her best friends. Her home was the center of all family gatherings. Bonnies avid hobbies included cribbage, Yahtzee, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, bowling, singing, and babysitting, but mostly she graciously welcomed any and all who came to her kitchen table, especially the people she loved. Bonnie is survived by her children, Patricia Urso of Stoughton, Gary Bostad of Madison, Susan (Wendell) Gardner of Bellevue, Wash., Kenneth Clary of Madison, Mark (Lisa) Clary of Bloomington, Minn., Laurel Clary of Madison, Julie (Doug) Anderson of Brooklyn, Douglas (Darcy) Clary of Monona and Joel (Anne) Clary of Fond du Lac; her 22 beloved grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary (Arthur) Anderson of Rochester, Minn. and Donna Leach of Sun Prairie; and a brother, John Michael (Judy) Wold of Rockford, Ill. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Bostad (killed in World War II); her second husband, Roy Kenneth Clary, on Oct. 15, 1993; her parents, Clarence and Helen (ONeil) Wold; sisters, Kathleen Potter, Beatrice Kipila and Helen Parisi; and brothers, Clarence and Richard Wold. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
