Mary Ann F. Arndt

Arndt, Mary Ann F. COTTAGE GROVE/ DEERFIELD - Mary Ann F. Arndt, age 75, passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Harbor Suites, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Feb. 3, 1931, to Marian "Louella" and Frank Suchomel. Mary Ann married Leslie "Jack" V. Arndt on July 5, 1947. Besides farming, Mary Ann worked as a waitress and cook at Rennebohm Drug Store and Oasis Truck Stop. She also worked for 18 years at Nelsons Wreath Farm in Deerfield. She was an active member of the Cottage Grove Lioness as well as the Cottage Grove Snowmobile Association. Mary Ann was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Through the years, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. Mary Ann especially enjoyed playing with her 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Delferd) Jasper of Madison, Sandra (Robert) Nelson of Sun Prairie, Ronald (Connie) Arndt of Evansville, David (Vicki) Arndt of West Salem, Bette (Jeffrey) Paulson of Cottage Grove, John (Lori) Arndt of Evansville, Julie (Allen) Anderson of Stoughton, Kenneth (Jeanne) Arndt of Cottage Grove, and Gene Arndt of Deerfield; a sister, Marcella "Sally" (Donald) Koch of Madison; a brother, James (Lynette) Schluter of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor "Dolly" (Lyle) Peterson and Evelyn Eisele; and brother-in-law, Robert (Carol) Arndt. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Jack" Arndt; a great-grandson, Kacey Jasper; her parents, Marian "Louella" and Frank Suchomel; stepfather, Archie Schluter; two brothers, a sister, two stepsisters and a half brother. Funeral services will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006.
