Obituary

Peters, Chris Daniel MADISON - Chris D. Peters was peacefully greeted by our blessed Mother at the gates of Heaven to take him to her son on Jan. 15, 2007. He left the mortal world in much comfort, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on Dec. 24, 1954, to Joyce Ann Peters of Baraboo and George G. Peters of Appleton. Chris married Rosalyn Peters of Reedsburg, who gave him two darling daughters, Christina Loren Peters of Milwaukee, and Roxana Koren Peters of Madison. Despite their divorce, Chris and Rosalyn were friends in the end. He also left behind his loving fiancee, Diane Nickel of Madison, their special friend, Elizabeth Shinn of Madison, and his precious kitty, Tabitha Twitchit. Tabitha will miss his chin-rubs and playful songs. Chris is also survived by friends and many dear siblings, Clarence (Karen) Peters of Fitchburg, Ervin (Cathy) Peters of Monroe, Raymond (Nancy) Peters of Waukesha, Ron (Theresa Schultz) Peters of Arizona, Randy (Sharon) Peters of Kaukana, Diane Bixby, Marlene (David) Crowe of Ontario, David (Barbara Smith) Peters of Reedsville, Nancy (Jim) Kohn of Waukesha, Steve (Sherry) Peters of Appleton, and Linda Crowe of Oshkosh. Chris attended Webb High (Reedsburg) where he was both a natural intellect and an animal on the football field. He worked as an Industrial Engineer at Sara Lee Bakery (Madison) where he was a dedicated, valuable employee. Chris was a phenomenal father, son, brother, friend and a truly amazing man. He selflessly provided unending, unconditional love, support and help to all who were lucky enough to know him. Chris was always a great example to all, even in the end. He fearlessly accepted the hand he was dealt and played it gracefully-laughing, smiling, joking, singing and dancing up until his last moment. Though he is and will forever be greatly missed by all who knew him, his shining smile, warm laughter, and infectious spirit will live on forever. A private memorial celebration was held on Jan. 16, 2007. Chris wished to be cremated, and his remains will be scattered in a special place of his choosing. Any gifts in memoriam can be made (in lieu of flowers) to the Dane County Humane Society. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and staff of the UW Hospital TLC Center and HospiceCare who aided Chris and his family in his last days, to all family and friends who have given so much love, comfort, support, and most of all to Chris for showing us all how to really live and to love.
