Obituary
Snell, Patrick John "PJ" MADISON - Patrick John "PJ Snell, age 22, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 13, 2007. He was a person of laughter, creativity, and sincerity. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend. But unfortunately, the love and support of family and friends could not dissipate the darkness of his long fight against depression. Left behind, we deeply grieve his suffering, and now our loss. Our salvation rests in the belief of his comfort in Heaven, and the memory of his playful smile. He was born on June 2, 1984 in Madison, the son of Patrick M. and Dolores M. (Banaszak) Snell. PJ was a 2002 graduate of Madison West High School and had went on to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to further his education. He was employed with Dairy Queen on Mineral Point Road, Madison. PJ was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace, where he had also attended grade school. He had a variety of interests which included watching movies, playing guitar and drawing, even before he could walk he was drawing. PJ loved everyone and always saw the best in people. He went on a mission trip with his church to the Blackfeet Reservation where he sought out the children who no one else would play with and made them feel loved. In addition to his parents, Patrick M. and Dolores M. Snell; PJ is survived by his brothers, Joe Snell and Eric Snell, both of Madison; maternal grandparents, Steve (Dolores) Banaszak; a paternal grandmother, Margaret Mary Snell; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was further survived by his beloved dog and wonderful pet "Lombardi." He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth J. Snell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE , 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2007, with Monsignor Kenneth Fiedler presiding. Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2007, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave. Middleton, where a Rosary will take place at 4:45 p.m. Friends may also call on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. He wanted to be the person he thought others wanted him to be, while never sacrificing his own character. His actions even more so than his words showed his love for others. He had incredible potential, and while he is lost, all the greatness he was lives on in the hearts of the many people who love him immensely and eternally. "We must live life in whatever way drives us. For those who love us we must love ourselves." Gunderson West Funeral and Cremation Center 7435 University Ave 608-831-6761 www.gundersonfh.com
