Marjorie Lala Gedko, McBride

Gedko, Marjorie Lala McBride MADISON - Marjorie Gedko, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on April 4, 1914, in Licking, Mo., to Dr. Obal Chesley and Dunie Belle (Harry) McBride. Marjorie moved to Rockford, Ill., in her teens to live with her sister. She married George Gedko on July 29, 1933, and moved to Madison, where she assisted her husband in establishing the Madison Window Cleaning Co. Marjorie became busy raising her three children, Tanya, Thomas, and Daniel; and participating in Girl Scouts, 4-H, and P.T.A. with her children. She was a member of the Bahai faith since the 1940s and a member of East Side Business Womens Association. Marjorie enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing bridge, and golfing. She had many hobbies including needlework, refinishing furniture, and gardening. Marjories life was centered around her family, children, and grandchildren. She was always there for them and will be missed by all. Marjorie is survived by her children, Tanya Joyce Koop and Neil Bolton, and Thomas George and Joyce Gedko; daughter-in-law, Susan Kay Gedko; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Avolyn May McBride; sisters-in-law, Catherine Gedko, and Thelma McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; a son, Daniel Chesley, in 2004; five brothers; and four sisters. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007. Private services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007. Friends and family are invited to Marjories home from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2007, to celebrate her life. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
