Gary R Kleist

Kleist, Gary R. "Hoot" MADISON - Gary "Hoot" Kleist, age 52, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007, after a brief illness. He was born on Nov. 14, 1954, in Madison, to Glenn and Maida (Sperstad) Kleist. Gary graduated from Madison LaFollette High School in 1972. He worked in concrete construction for many years. Gary loved fishing, hunting and watching deer and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his three brothers, Wayne (Ann) Kleist, David (Connie) Kleist and Keith Kleist; special friend, Diane Swalheim; niece, Melissa (Robert) Sohacki; nephew, Roger (Kelly) Kleist; and a great-niece, Genevieve Sohacki. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 6 p.m., on Thursday, June 21, 2007. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
