Obituary

Packard, E. Joannie (Solem) OREGON - E. Joannie (Solem) Packard of Oregon, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Aug. 6, 1944, at home, in the town of Dunkirk, the daughter of Joseph and Pauline Hernstine. Joannie married Robert Packard on Dec. 29, 2001, in Edgerton. Joannie just retired on June 1, 2007, after 30 years of service at Uniroyal. She was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling with family and friends she also enjoyed her flowers and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was everyones "Rock." Joannie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends including, her husband, Robert of Oregon; her children, Debra (Mike) Anderson of Edgerton, Robert Solem of Janesville, Russell (Michelle) Solem of Fort Atkinson, Mary Kay (Steve) Tabbert of Janesville, Ronald (Jennifer) Solem of Milton, Peggy Packard of Oregon, Lynda Whittle of Anacortes, Wash., Mark Packard of Oregon and Deanna Kay (Ken) Kirby of Way of Peace, Colo. She is further survived by 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Delwyn (Diane) Hernstine of Stoughton; her sisters, Rae (Rod) Vale of Edgerton and Jan (Ralph) Olmstead of Beloit; special sister-in-law, Gail Hernstine; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Frank, Hiram, Jonathan Hernstine and by an infant son. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. at EDGERTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 112 Albion St., Edgerton, with the Rev. Tom Countryman presiding. Burial will be in Wheeler Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton.
