William Louis Henry Blumke

Blumke, William Louis Henry VERONA/ BLACK EARTH - William L. Blumke died on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. He was born on July 23, 1921, to Herman Blumke and Emma Maurer Blumke. He married Ruth Lowry on Aug. 12, 1978. He lived and farmed his entire working life on the Herman/Emma Blumke homestead in Verona, farming with his brother, Robert. He was a life-long member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Verona. William is survived by a sister-in-law, Olga Blumke; nephews, Harland Blumke of Verona and Dr. Darrell (Janice) Wesenberg of American Falls, Idaho; nieces, Joanne Delvaux of Verona, Dr. Carole (David) Janisch of Lubbock, Texas, Barbara (Conrad) Feller of Georgetown, Texas, Marilyn Doerfer of Middleton, Carolyn Doerfer of Madison and Evelyn (Mark) Cain of Verona; and great-nephews and great-nieces. He is further survived by Ruths son, John Lowry Blumke of Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Harold Blumke, Robert Blumke and Herbert Blumke; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Elmer) Wesenberg and Margaret (Fredrick) Doerfer. A special thanks to Dr. William Scheibel, his staff, and the staff at Heartland Country Village, Black Earth for their special care. In honor of Williams request, there will be no services. Private family graveside services will be held in the Verona Cemetery with Pastor Kurt Billings presiding. Memorials may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Verona or to Heartland country Village, Black Earth.
