Obituary

Lehman, Ernest Sr. Middleton - Ernest Lehman, Sr., age 82, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. He was born on Jan. 16, 1925, in Perry, the son of the late Herman and Ida Lehman and farmed with the family in Verona. He married Susan Meier on June 2, 1948, at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Middleton. He attended vocational school and was a member of the Carpenters Union #314 for 50 years as a Master Carpenter. He joined his brother-in-law, John Lund, in business and in 1987, along with his son, Ernie Jr., formed Lehman Construction. Ernies interests included dancing, fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Susan; children, Steven (Jolene) Lehman of Billings, Mont., David (Brenda) of Westminster, Colo., Ernie Jr. (Jan) of Madison, Susan of Rochester, Minn. and James (Donna) of Douglasville, Ga.; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Hageman, Helen (Hubert) Warner, Ruth Williamson and Lillian Ballmer; a sister-in-law, Lorna Lehman and other relatives and many friends. Ernie was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy; his brother, Herman; and three sisters, Olga, Martha and Hilda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Avenue, Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be at 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Harbor House and Hospice for their loving care.
