Kathleen Cecelia (Kons) Oriedo

Oriedo, Kathleen Cecelia MADISON - Kathleen Cecelia (Kons) Oriedo, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at home, with her family in Madison. She was born on Feb. 19, 1944, in Appleton, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Catherine Kons. She was married to Micah A. Oriedo on Feb. 14, 1969, in Eugene, Ore. Kathleen was born and raised in Appleton and graduated from Kimberly High School. Then she achieved a bachelor of science degree from UW-Madison and a master of science degree from the Ohio State University. Kathleen had many careers including teaching, social work and most recently in administration with UW-Madison Asian-American Studies Program. Kathleen is survived by her son, Mika (Anna) Oriedo; daughter, Sangona (Kieran Galvin) Oriedo and their father, Micah Oriedo; and many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial gathering will take place at Kathleens home, 3825 Johns St., Madison, WI 53714, on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. On Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2796 County Highway KK, Appleton, WI 54915. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church in Appleton. Burial will follow at the Holy Angel Cemetery in Darboy, Wis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a charity to be established. She touched many lives and will be missed!
