Obituary
Hewuse, Francis L. "Fritz" Sr. DEFOREST/ MADISON - Francis L. "Fritz" Hewuse Sr., age 68, of DeForest and Madison, died on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at University Hospital. He was born in Richland Center, on June 17, 1939, to Gifford and Dorothy (Gathright) Hewuse. He graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1958 and married the former Mary Ellen Lord in Richland Center on Aug. 1, 1959. Fritz served in the Army National Guard from 1958 to 1966 and he worked at Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison for more than 40 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his children, JoEllen (Michael) Dexter of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., Francis (Tammy) Hewuse Jr. of Tomah, Thomas (Diane) Hewuse of DeForest and Lori Ann (Brian) Curley of Sun Prairie; his grandchildren, Matthew Dexter, Brett Dexter, Ashley Utecht, Kevin Skogen Jr., Clarence Skogen, Cassandra Skogen, Tia Hewuse, Frances "Trey" Hewuse III, Stacia (Steven) Dibble and William Hewuse; his sisters, Donna Watson of Madison and Marie Gaudreau of West Bend; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hewuse; his parents; his brother, Leroy Hewuse; and several aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Fritz and Mary, who died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Fritz and Mary will be buried together at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a wake service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, St. Dennis Catholic Grade School or Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart. Fritzs family wishes to thank palliative care and cardiology at University Hospital for their help with Dad.
