Catrine, Marie E. (Rayburn) MADISON/ SPIRIT LAKE, IOWA Marie E. (Rayburn) Catrine, age 34, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, formerly of Madison, died suddenly on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, due to complications from diabetes. Marie Elizabeth Rayburn Catrine was born on Oct. 30, 1973, in Madison, the daughter of Vance and Lois Rayburn. She was diagnosed with diabetes at age six. Marie graduated from Edgewood High School in 1991 and continued her education at UW-Whitewater, Madison Area Technical College and University of Phoenix. She married Steven Catrine on Aug. 9, 1996. Marie and Steve were currently residing in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where Marie cherished being involved in all of her childrens activities. She was an avid scrap-booker and a fan of the Badgers, Cubs, and Packers. Marie is survived by her husband and best friend, Steve of Spirit Lake; their three children, Sean (6), Kendra (4), and Kaitlyn (2); her parents, Vance Rayburn and Lois Rayburn; sisters, Monica (Sean) Sioco and nephew, Tyler, and Michelle (Jon) Pounders and niece, Kiley; grandparents, Lorraine Mansky and Betty Rayburn; aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy Brezinski and Carl (Claire) Catrine; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Bill) Dupuis, Dianne (Steve) Paulson, Linda (Mike) Galovits, and Laura Catrine; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Roman Mansky and Vance S. Rayburn. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, with Monsignor Raymond Kertz presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to a fund to be established for the childrens education.

Steve and family, My heart goes out you. I remember you talking and showing us the pictures of the kids costumes. Marie will be missed, but for everything that happens there is a reason, we don't see it now,or it may take a long time to realize why. God bless you and your children. Be safe.
