Schulenburg-Kast, Irene C. CROSS PLAINS/ RICHLAND CENTER Irene C. Schulenburg-Kast, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at the Richland Hospital. She was born on Aug. 17, 1919, in Cross Plains, the daughter of Otto and Agnes (Virnig) Schulenburg. Irene was self employed and was a milk hauler in Sparta for 13 years. She married Raymond Kast on Jan. 28, 1979, in Sparta and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1985. Irene was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains. She is survived by her children, Agnes (Wayne) Christofferson of Madison, Victor Swenson of Richland Center and MaryLou Swenson of Juneau, Wis.; sisters, Florence (Frank) Miles of Huntington, Vt. and Martha (Joe) Dostie of Augusta, Maine; brothers, Walter (Jo) Schulenburg of Elroy, Wis., Louis Schulenburg and Robert (Marie) Schulenburg, both of Cross Plains, Wis.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Gladys, Marjorie and Carol. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; an infant sister, Katherine; an infant brother, baby Schulenburg; brothers, Joseph, Edward and Raymond; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Schuldenburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Endowment Fund.
