Obituary

Winden, Raymond A. MONONA Raymond A. Winden, age 53, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. He was born on May 31, 1954, in Blanchardville, to Lloyd and Ruth (Swiggum) Winden. Ray was united in marriage to Deborah Burzinski on June 14, 1984. He was a long time member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. He served on the church council and enjoyed volunteering for activities and events, especially at Christmas. Ray earned an associate degree from the School of Electronics and his bachelors degree from UW-Madison. He loved the outdoors, including deer-hunting on the family farm, canoeing, as well as camping and vacationing with his family. During his free time, Ray enjoyed bowling, softball, basketball, and playing the piano. His true passion was his business, Procal Services, which he founded in 1984. Ray loved his work, especially all the people he met and grew to know over the years. Ray is survived by his wife of 23 years, Deborah Burzinski-Winden; four children, Matthew, Vanessa, Andrew, and Dustin Winden; grandson, Alexander; mother, Ruth Winden; three sisters, Sylvia (Rick) Batcheldes, Dawn Winden, and Elaine (Chris) DeVito; three brothers, Luther Winden, David (Dolores) Winden, and Sylvan (Sarah) Winden; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd in 1995. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, with the Rev. Nick Upthal presiding. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
