Emma Rhyner

Rhyner, Emma MADISON Emma Rhyner, age 87, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Brooklyn, a daughter of the late Christof and Rosina (Disch) Rhyner. Emma was employed at the University Hospital in Madison, as a food server, until her retirement. She enjoyed going to the Wil-Mar Center. Emma kept busy by tending to her flowers, doing different crafts, playing Yahtzee and solitaire, completing fill-in books, and listening to old time music. She lived and saw many changes on Willy Street over 34 years. Emma is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Werner, Fred, and John; and four sisters, Anna Lee, Suzanne Best, Barbara Rhyner, and Mary Pernot. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Her family would like to thank HospiceCare for their care and support.
