Obituary

Boehm, Sally J. (Allman) OREGON Sally J. (Allman) Boehm, age 71, of Oregon, concluded a long and happy life on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on Feb. 7, 1937, in Medford, the daughter of E. L. "Bud" and Amy L. (Lowe) Allman. Sally grew up in Medford, Park Falls, and Phillips, graduating from Phillips High School in 1955 and from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1959, where she earned a degree in education. She spent much of her adult life being a teacher and/or librarian in various schools and libraries. Following her retirement from Alliant Energy in November 2000, Sally enjoyed many hours of volunteering. Sally put aside her cancer to spend quality time with her family and friends, volunteering, and enjoying reading, crafts, and music. Highlights of the past year were her reunion with her sisters and with some of her high school classmates. Sally is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ralph; son, Todd (Megan) of Madison; daughter, Sue (Charlie) Zander of Waunakee; stepson, Kirk (Sandra) of Poynette; stepdaughter, Nanette (Mark Harings) Boehm of Eau Claire; and eight terrific grandchildren, Kayla and Sarah Zander, Ethan and Shannon Boehm, Maggie and Sophie Harings, and Kollin Boehm and Steven Banovetz. She is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis Eliot (dear friend, Earle Kaufman) of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Lorna Tweedie of Crawfordville, Fla., and Emily (Bill) James of Chesterfield, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Frances and Connie Boehm of Eau Claire and their family; and special friends, Marion Boshers, Barbel Ramthun, and Ellie and Chuck Friedli of Stoughton. Sallys life was also enriched by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Amy Allman; and by Ralphs parents, Charlie and Mae Boehm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at SKAALEN HOME CHAPEL, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008, with the Rev. James Koza presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008, and at Skaalen Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Oregon Area Senior Center, Oregon or Skaalen Home Resident Council of Stoughton. Sally encouraged others by example to enjoy the happiness and fun in life, sunshine, rainbows, helping others, and putting color in their lives. After enjoying countless sunrises and sunsets during her years of life on earth, Sally eagerly looked forward to whatever is ahead following her very full and good life on earth.
