Obituary
Edmundson, Karen M. (Polglase) MADISON -Karen M. (Polglase) Edmundson, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, 2008, after a short illness. Karen was born on July 11, 1950, in Madison, to Everett "Sparky" and Margaret (Giese) Polglase. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1968. In 1969, she wed Stephen J. Edmundson and they were married until 2000. Karen then found new love with Steve Henry and the two spent the past eight years traveling and enjoying life together. She worked at TaxAir Freight for many years, where she spent her days alongside colleagues who had become close friends. Karen loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed reading, shopping, spoiling her kitties, traveling, and toiling away warm days on the back of Steves Harley. Karen is survived by her fiance, Steve Henry of Madison; children, Scott (Esther) Edmundson of Madison and Kari (Sodara) Orn of Stoughton; grandchildren, Annika and William Edmundson, and Alex and Claire Orn; her former husband, Stephen Edmundson of Cottage Grove; two sisters, JoAnn Pond of Madison and Toni (Fred J.) Schulze of Cottage Grove; nieces, Michelle (Todd) King and Stacie Brozek; nephews, Fred Andrew Schulze and Brett Schulze; a great-niece, Sydney King; a great-nephew, Skyler King; aunts, Ila Wermuth, Janice (Ed) Niebuhr, Pat Bredeson and Liz (Les) Fafard; an uncle, Ted Veloff; numerous cousins; Steve Henrys sisters, Nancy (Henry) Smith of Madison, and her son, Christopher Henry, and Susan (Henry) Hales of Salt Lake City, Utah; her two cats, that she adored; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant grandson, Jonathon Edmundson; uncles, Llew Bredeson, Beuford "Bloop" Polglase, Frank Wermuth, and Larry OKroley; and aunts, Arlene Veloff and Phyllis OKroley. A memorial gathering honoring Karens life will be held at GUNDRESON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Thursday, March 27, 2008. Even though I only knew Karen for a little over a year we became good friends. We laughed, giggled and cried together, sometimes over the most stupid things. I will miss her dearly not getting our daily call to each other, God Bless her family and friends.
