Obituary

Crowley, Hilda H. MADISON - Hilda H. Crowley, age 82, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at home early Monday morning, March 24, 2008. She was the best mother, sister, grandmother and friend that anyone could ever ask for. She will be dearly missed by all that were blessed with knowing her, and her lively spirit will remain within us all forever. She was born on May 19, 1925, to Gottlieb and Sophie Peltz in New Liepzep, N.D. Hilda was united in marriage to Bernard "Bun" Crowley on Oct. 2, 1954. She spent years working in the food/deli industry at Oscar Mayer, Sentry Foods and SuperAmerica. She enjoyed her retirement years to the fullest extent by taking trips to visit family and helping out at her retirement home. Hilda especially enjoyed taking trips with her friend Marion to Laughlin, Nev., Ho Chunk and other local casinos. She won more than she lost, which is not surprising if you knew her. The past few years Hilda also looked after her sister Ednas well being and saw that she never missed an appointment from the beauty shop or to the doctors office. She will be so dearly missed by her son, Donald (Connie) Hessler of Columbus; daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Namio of Lake Havasu City, Nev., and Pennie (Bob Hermes) Abel of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Todd Hessler, Michelle Coleman, Kyle (Lisa) Hessler, Samantha Barron, Jordan Abel, Nicholas Abel and Carmen Crowley; nine great-grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Austin, Alex, Daphne, Alexis, Ashlyn, Joseph and Dominique; and sisters, Edna Sackett and Esther Jancy. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Bun; parents; siblings, John, Elsie, Roland, Vic and Harold; and many other friends and family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008, at noon at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive. Friends and family may call on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to Dr. Giesen for his years of caring and support.

Dear Hilda, Thanks for all the wonderful memories you have provided over the years for me to mull over as I too approach the end of my life span (not right away though, so don't start saving a seat for me just yet). I don't really know what heaven is like, but if it is as I hope it will be, Bun, my dad, your parents, my sister Theresa, your siblings, Gom and GiGi, and a lot of other people will be waiting to welcome you with open arms. You will leave an empty spot in hearts here on earth but will obviously fill one in Heaven that has been prepared and waiting for you for some time. I hope the weight of all the love you carry from all of us is not too big a burden. Rest in peace sweet ledy. We will miss you.
