Obituary
Yttri, Ena (Kraak) MADISON/MUSCODA Ena (Kraak) Yttri, age 80, died on Saturday, March 29, 2008, after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Ena was born on April 22, 1927, to William and Maria (Kuntz) Kraak on the home farm at Muscoda. She graduated from Muscoda High School in 1944. Later she attended Madison Business College where she met her husband Harland "Hi" Yttri. They were married on Aug. 17, 1947, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Muscoda. Ena spent her married life working, while she raised eight children. Prior to marriage she worked at Truax Air Force base in the telegraph and communications office. Later she worked at Oscar Mayer and Company, where she made many dear friends. After her husbands death, she was employed by the State of Wisconsin. She retired from the Dept. Of Employees Trust Fund in 1989. While retired she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing trips as long as health would permit. Ena did crafts, crocheting and quilting. Each of her grandchildren received a baby quilt. Many received afghans as a wedding gift. She is a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 7591. She was a former member of SAS (Sports of active Seniors) and Kayra. She is survived by five sons, Richard (Mary Jo) and Dave of Madison, James (Carol) of Cross Plains, Thomas (Theresa) of Evansville and Scott (Diane) of Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Barbara (Larry) McCool of Evansville and Carol Jerome (fiancé Dave Ace) of McFarland; 17 grandchildren, Meegan (Matthew) Hass, Beth (Patrick) Bosmans, Jennifer, Sarah, Chad, Kelly (Khalid Mohammed), Jimmy, Jessica, Carey, Jamie, Madi, and Sydney Yttri, Laura (Joseph) Ledesma and Charlie Danz, Kate Yttri, Kristin Brockwell and Kaylynn Yttri; five great-grandchildren, Mahaya, Jaedyn, Emily, Skyler, and Zayd; and a sister, Eva Kraak of Avoca. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, "Hi" in 1965; a daughter, Tara; her parents; two grandchildren, Andrew Yttri and William Danz; two brothers, Elmer and Erwin, and three sisters, Ethel, Edna, and Elma. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation staff, nurses, and CNAS. "Miss Ena" appreciated all you did for her. We also want to thank Hospice for their support to the family. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Father John Meinholz will be presiding.

Ena was a Very energetic lady! She loved her family very much and always had kind words
to say. It was a pleasure to have crossed her path in life l always think of her when the morrel mushrooms are in bloom, she and Dick collected buckets full!
