Vera Ann Harris

Harris, Vera Ann MADISON Vera Ann Harris, age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2008. She was born on June 3, 1936, in Madison, the daughter of Helmuth and Frieda (Leshinsky) Strasburg. Vera graduated from Madison East High School. She was united in marriage to Floyd Harris in 1954. Vera was a member of Bashford United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, traveling, and being with her family and friends. Vera had a contagious laugh and the "party" officially started when she entered any room. She is survived by her three sons, Greg (Denise), Steve (Elizabeth), and Chuck (Terri); six grandchildren, Trevor, Sydney, Brandon, Daniel, Cody and Courtney; and many friends. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents; and four siblings, Elaine, Phil, Roger and Florence. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 22, 2008, with the Rev. Fran Deaner presiding. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. A Limb Fallen A limb has fallen from our family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, Im counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small, go on with your life, dont just stare at the wall. "I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin, until the day comes were together again."
