Russell C. Enger

Enger, Russell C. MADISON Russell C. Enger, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. He was born on July 31, 1922, in Argyle, to Lars and Mattie (Larson) Enger. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart. He married Jeannette Cunningham on Sept. 5, 1947, in Madison. Russell worked at Rennebohms and Walgreens until his retirement. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church. Russell enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; a daughter, Susan Enger-OBrien; sister-in-law, Evelyn Schrotz; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Laverne Enger; and sister, Marie Rogers. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008, with the Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Luther Memorial Church or to a charity of the donors choice. A special thank you to the staff at St. Marys Hospital CICU unit for the care they gave Russell.
