Obituary
Onsgard, Howard E. MADISON Howard E. Onsgard, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center. He was born on Oct. 6, 1920, in Madison, the son of Florence (Barton) and Clarence Onsgard. Howard attended Sunnyside School and graduated from Madison East High School. He served in the U. S. Army. Howard married Viola Krier-Johnson on April 7, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa. He worked as an expeditor at Gisholt Machine Co. and Ohio Medical Co., until his retirement. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7591, American Legion Post No. 501, and the Moose Lodge. Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, singing, tinkering, motorcycles and flying airplanes. He loved going to the Wil-Mar Senior Center, Snicks 19th Hole, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Howard is survived by his wife, Viola; daughter, Cheryl Kline of Madison; grandchildren, Ericka (David) Stellflue of Madison and Jeffrey Kline of San Francisco, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Skyler Stellflue; and sister, Caryl Murwin of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Clarence Onsgard. Funeral services will be held at OUR SAVIOURS EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1201 Droster Road, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2008, and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 or Our Saviours Evangelical Lutheran Church. A special thank you to the staff of HospiceCare Inc., Dr. Ansfield, Dr. Cambray and staff for the care they gave Howard.
