Obituary
LaBrosse, Lora M. MADISON Lora M. LaBrosse, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008. She was born on March 10, 1924, in Richland County, the daughter of James Bernard and Sarah (Sugden) Banker. She married Lawrence LaBrosse on Feb. 16, 1949, in Madison. Lora was a meat packer at Oscar Mayer during the war. After raising her family she earned her degree in secretarial skills at MATC. She then decided to enter the work force and was employed by American Family Insurance in the claims service department, where she worked for 20 years. She enjoyed needle work, making jellies and jams and loved gardening. Lora was active in Keenagers at Trinity Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed luncheons with the American Family retirees. Lora was always interested in new technologies and was an avid reader. Lora is survived by her sister, Bernadine Stout of Madison; children, Phillip (Marilyn) of Arden Hills, Minn., Steve of LaCrosse, Theresa (Nate) Ellis of Madison and Jeffrey of Madison; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Ruth Lewis and Delores Friis. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Ruppenthal officiating. Entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
