Sandi L. Benson

Benson, Sandi L. MADISON Sandi L Benson, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008. She was born in Ironwood, Mich. on Jan. 22, 1943, the daughter of Joel and Natalie (Hein) Benson. Sandi graduated from Monona Grove High School with the class of 1961. She worked for the State of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Health and Social Services for 15 years, then private business for many years. Sandi had a great love for all animals, was a member of AA since Jan. 10, 1980, Evangel Life Center Church, and most recently a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She contributed to a number of foreign missions, but Sandis favorite organization was Project Angel Tree. She is survived by her aunt, Jackie Saari; first cousin, David (Gay) Saari; and second cousin, Amanda (Benjamin) Lund. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at 3 p.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 2:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Sandi will be laid to rest next to her parents at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, Mich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent St., Madison.
