Fred Sowatzke

Sowatzke, Fred MADISON Fred Sowatzke, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Karmenta Nursing Home. He was born on Jan. 2, 1919, in Marshfield, to Albert and Emma (Lipka) Sowatzke. Fred married Lucy Ristow on Aug. 20, 1938, in Wisconsin Rapids. He was a gifted and talented craftsman in the Madison area. Fred was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 314 for more than 40 years. H e is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lucy of Madison; two sons, Robert (June) of Madison, and James (Bonnie) of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Randy (Corey), Ronnie (Janet), Ricky, Robert (Sue), Cynthia, James Jr., Belinda, Jerry and Stacy; and numerous great-grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Dolly Manke. Private family services will be held.
