Obituary

Walsvick-Black, Edith Elaine "Sparky" MADISON / SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS Edith Elaine "Sparky" Walsvick-Black, born on April 29, 1933, in Eagle, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the young age of 75, with a short and unexpected diagnosis of cancer. She was a "Winter Texan" for many years and ended up residing in San Antonio, Texas, to be near her daughter, Sandra. Elaine was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who dearly loved her relatives and friends. She retired from the Wisconsin Central Colony in Madison after more than 20 years of service. Elaine was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans World War II. She loved to travel, shop, crochet and most of all golf. Elaine is survived by her children, Michael Bergsma of Alaska, Gary (Cathy Koltes) Walsvick of Madison, Sandra (Alice Rodriquez) Walsvick of Texas, Steven (Tammy) Walsvick of DeForest, Kathleen (James Dvorak) Walsvick of Madison, Tim (Shelly Twang) Walsvick of Morisonville, and Mary Walsvick of Sun Prairie; a sister, Barbara Portzen; brothers, Harry Knight, Gerald Knight, Ronald Knight, and Richard Crook; grandchildren, Jason Bergsma, Jody Becker, Nicole (Joseph Jr.) Hyatt, Chad Walsvick, Jeromy Aiken, Bristol Walsvick, Ryland Walsvick, Brandon Walsvick; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Black; parents, Harley and Helen Knight; a son, William Walsvick; and a brother, Bob Knight. Memorial services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandra Walsvick, 318 Roswell Canyon, San Antonio, Texas, 78245. Elaine will sincerely be missed by her family, loved ones and a host of friends.
