William H. Harvey

Harvey, William H. STOUGHTON William H. Harvey, age 84, of Stoughton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 30, 1924, in Janesville, the youngest of four children, to William and Laura Harvey. Bill graduated from Janesville High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife of 61 years, Zelda Jacobs on Feb. 22, 1947. Bill worked for 32 years for Wisconsin Power and Light Co., retiring in 1985. After retirement, they moved to Florida for 15 years, where he enjoyed golfing. Bill was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Zelda; three sons, David (Peggy), Tom (Nancy), and Peter (Sarah); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Scott; and brother, Jim Harvey. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Richard in 1956 and Larry in 2006; and a brother, Robert. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 North at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, with the Rev. Lamar Gibson presiding and military rites to follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
