Clark, Anna Mae "Ann" (OConnor) MARSHALL - Ann (OConnor) McCarthy Buntrock Clark died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Karmenta Center. Ann had bravely been battling cancer for the last several years. Ann was born on May 29, 1927, to William and Grace (Harvey) OConnor, in Blue River. She graduated from Blue River High School and later married George Robert McCarthy Jr. of Highland. They settled in Madison and welcomed Bob and Cheryl into the world. A tragic boat accident occurred in Oconomowoc in 1950, claiming the life of George McCarthy Jr., as well as Anns sister Maxine and her husband Clarence. Ann and her children moved home to the farm in Excelsior. Willie built a house for the family of three in Boscobel in 1956. Ann met Virgil Buntrock and they married in 1959. They relocated to Janesville where Brian and Kevin joined the family. In 1965, Virgil was employed by the Madison Post Office and family made the move to the East Side of Madison. Ann retired as credit manager at Cenex in Cottage Grove. Virgil died unexpectedly in 1985. Anns first grandchild, Justin Edward was born in 1989 and she was delighted to be a grandmother. Dale Clark, a LP driver for Cenex began courting Ann and they married in 1987. Kevin and Carla provided a second grandchild, Shawn Quinten in1993. Ann and Dale traveled extensively over the next 15 years. They relocated to Marshall, where Dale still resides. Ann is survived by her spouse, Dale Clark of Marshall; four children, Bob McCarthy of Blue River, Cheryl McCarthy of Madison, Brian Buntrock (Lisa Pelletier) of Green Bay, and Kevin (Carla) Buntrock of Madison; two grandsons, Justin and Shawn Buntrock; and a brother, Ed OConnor of Blue River. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo and Murray; and her sisters, Bernice and Maxine (Yanna). Anns wishes were to be cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF THE NATIVITY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 112 S. Beebe, Marshall, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008. Visitation will be at the church, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, your favorite charity, or St. Mary of the Nativity Parish.
