Obituary
MADISON-Rudolph C. "Rudy" Stegbauer, age 71, passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008. He was born on Aug. 18, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Mathild H. and Rudy C. Stegbauer. Rudy served in the U. S. Air Force. He married Karen Quigley on Sept. 19, 1964, in Pontiac, Ill. Rudy worked for various insurance companies in California, Colorado, Illinois and Oregon, before moving to Madison, where he worked for Madison National Life Insurance Co. He also owned Break Time Video and Box Office Video. Rudy loved to fish, travel and watch old movies. He is survived by his wife, Karen Stegbauer; daughter, Jennifer (Lt. Col. Scott) Janzen; son, Mark (Mary) Stegbauer; grandchildren, Glynnis and Jack Janzen; and brother-in-law, Chuck (Mary Ann) Quigley. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents. A time to celebrate Rudys life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008. Interment will be held at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Denver, Colo. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at UW Hospital and Clinics for all the care and encouragement they showed Rudy.
