Mary D. Baumann

Photo Baumann, Mary D. MADISON - Mary D. Baumann passed away on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 23, 1911, to Alfred and Cora (Williamson) Devine. Mary graduated from Oregon High School in 1928 and then attended Madison Business College. She met Leonard Baumann in 1934, when they were both working for Madison Silo Company. They were married on Oct. 21, 1936 and lived in Madison from that time on. Mary was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was the church bookkeeper and office assistant, working beside her best friend, Eleanor Droster, who also passed away on Dec. 11, 2008. Mary enjoyed knitting, traveling, and took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also spent years researching her family genealogy. Mary is survived by her daughter, Judy (Walter) Dombrowski; their children, Mark (Sharon) Dombrowski and children Blake (Amanda) Dombrowski, and Craig Dombrowski; Scott (Bobbie) Dombrowski; their children, David, Daniel and Darrick; her son, John (Judy) Baumann; their children, Stephen (Christine) Baumann and children, Natalie, Nicole and Regan Baumann; Corey (Joan) Baumann; their children, Kayla and Camden Baumann; Susan (Lon) Bauer; and their children Evan and Amanda Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Leonard on June 26, 1983. Services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH,1021 Spaight St., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, with the Rev. Charles E. Werth presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
