Evelyn Bakken

Photo Bakken, Evelyn MADISON-Evelyn Bakken, age 96, of Madison, died on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008. She was born on July 12, 1912, in Cambridge, the daughter of Nordahl and Mildred (Jacobson) Anderson. Evelyn married Elwood Bakken on Oct. 16, 1937. She had been a resident of Madison since 1939. Evelyn was a member of Bashford United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Meriter Hospital for many years and also at Red Cross. Evelyn is survived by a son, Gordon Morris of Fullerton, Calif.; granddaughter, Angela Henderson of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two grandsons, Elwood (Karma) Bakken of Bozeman, Mont. and Andrew (Sheri) Bakken of Barneveld; and five great-granddaughters, Erika and Emily Henderson of Yorba Linda, Calif., Ocean Chi Kiang Bakken of Bozeman, Mont., and Madelyn and Hayden Bakken of Barneveld. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elwood; and son, Richard. A memorial service will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE EAST, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009. Burial will be at East Koshkonong Cemetery.
