Huber, Rose M."Rosie"MADISON-Rose M. "Rosie" (Kempfer) Huber, age 88, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009. She was born on Dec. 23, 1920, in Springdale Township, near Verona. Rosie was the 14th child of Fred and Rosa (Warner) Kempfer. She married Bill Huber, who was stationed at Truax Field, on Nov. 23, 1943. They were married for 54 years. Rosie graduated from Madison East High School in 1938. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, East Side Club, Eastern Star 283. She was a life time member of VFW Post No. 7591 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Club. She had worked at Rayovac for 22 years. Rosie retired from Gerhardts Drug Store after 14 years. She is survived by her brother, Lloyd "Dusty" (Mary) Kempfer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Huber; parents, Fred and Rosa; brothers, Fred, Waldo, Alvin, Vernon, Wilbert, Marion, and Gilman; sisters, Josie Goth, Hilda Selje, Edna Schneider, Clara Hefty, Viola Hohlstein, Laura Kempfer, and Gladys Harrison. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Phil Haslanger presiding. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Dress casual.
