OREGON-Welma Elnora Hanson Lund, age 73, passed on to her Creator on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, of heart failure, surrounded by her close knit family. Welma was a retired Registered Nurse, graduating as the Valedictorian and president of the 1958 graduating class at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill. She lived her Lutheran Christian faith throughout her life and carried that devotion as a nurse, wife, mother and grandmother. Welma was actively involved in her church community at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Oregon through choir, outreach and friendships. Welma deeply loved her family and friends. She loved to care for others and devoted her life to enriching others lives through her nurturing nature. Welmas love for her Christian faith is passed on to her husband, children and grandchildren. John 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails.

To all of Welm's family,
Although we only met Welm a few times, we felt like we knew her through our close relationship with Margret and Winton. We know those dear sisters are now busy catching up, and we trust that visual will help you find comfort and peace. We pray God's blessings on all of you today and in the days ahead. Our warmest sympathy, Jack and Lila Christensen
