Obituary

BELLEVILLE- Cameron Bryan, age 76, passed away peacefully after a five year battle with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 13, 1932, in Madison, to Walter and Ruth (Short) Bryan. Cameron married Beverly Jacobsen on Dec. 29, 1956, in Madison. In 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a parachute rigger and attained the rank of staff sergeant, being honorably discharged in 1952. He helped start Cascade Water Company in Las Vegas, Nev. Cameron retired from the Madison Metropolitan Sewer District after 21 years, in 1998. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 50. Cameron had a variety of interests, including reading, music, serving in different capacities for his church and learning about his heritage. He was a "Jack of all trades" including home remodeling and fixing cars. Cameron extended a hand of friendship and welcome to all, committing his entire life unselfishly to his family, friends and strangers. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make us laugh. Cameron lived by his motto: Faith! Courage! and Enthusiasm! He is survived by his "little bride", Beverly, of 52 years; sons, Bill (Jackie) of Kaysville, Utah, and Tim (Trena) of Queen Creek, Ariz; daughter, Carrie (Everett) Bissonette of Murrieta, Calif; grandchildren, Jessica (Jared) Stephens, Andria (Randy) Demetter, Mariah, Dalin and Nolan Bryan, and Katie and Amara Bissonette, great-grandson, Nathan Stephens; two sisters, Greta Doyle of Pardeeville, and Carol (Jerry) Stich of Baraboo; brother, Bruce (Carol) Bryan of Madison; sister-in-law, Sherri Bryan; as well as many nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter; and brother-in-law, Bob Doyle. Funeral services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 701 Bear Claw Way, (corner of Old Sauk and Bear Claw Way), Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009. Burial will follow at Verona Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.27, 2009, and also on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
