OBrien, Dorothy Ann STOUGHTON-Dorothy Ann (Chaney) OBrien, age 103, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Nazareth House, Stoughton. She was born on Sept. 22, 1905, in Montfort, the first child of Mayme (Bunszel) and John Chaney. Dorothy was united in marriage to William Emmett (Darby) OBrien in May of 1924 at St. Bernard Catholic Church of Madison. Darby preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1961. Besides being a homemaker and a mother, Dorothy worked at her sons store, Jerrys Grocery Store on Sherman Avenue, Madison. Dorothy loved to dance (polkas), sing, sew, play euchre and cook for her family. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Robert Sr. (Margaret Joerger) OBrien, and their children, Kathleen Rideout, Robert Jr., Kenneth, Michael, James, William, Dianna Bower, Jo-Ann Schorr; and John (Nancy Johnson) OBrien, and their children, Michael John OBrien, Beverly Bane, Lynnette Klamrowski She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Virginia Swenson (Marvin, deceased Feb. 12, 1991), grandchildren, Patrick, Stephen, Kevin, Shawn, Maureen Maloney; daughter-in-law Marian Pittz (Richard, deceased May 10 2003), grandchildren, Karen Katke, Dennis, David, Kathie Welte, Kristine Roser; daughter-in-law, Elaine Engelke (Gerald, deceased May 4, 1987), grandchildren, Gregory, Nancy, Daniel, Thomas, Pamela, Alan, Maribeth Sanford; 71 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Aldridge and Irene Wichert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a special niece/goddaughter, Sr. Marie Claire (Karen) Aldridge. She was preceded in death by her husband; four sons, Marvin, Richard, Gerald and Kenneth OBrien, deceased, Aug. 25, 1936; two sisters, Mildred Bell, Florence Guerten; brothers, Myron, Daniel, Leon and Jerome. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services will be at Resurrection Cemetery immediately following service. A special thanks go out to her granddaughter, Dianna Bower, R.N. To the wonderful staff of Nazareth House, you helped make her final year very comfortable and happy, she would tell you "I LOVE YOU", Dr Kutz and Julia, R.N., youre the BEST!!
