Margaret June Manthei-Cox

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA./MADISON-Margaret June Manthei-Cox, age 91, completed her earthly pilgrimage on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. She was born on Aug. 4, 1917, in Madison, to the late Emil and Tillie (Savee) Larson. Margarets early years were as a core student and potential teacher in the Wisconsin-Synod Lutheran Church. She worked in finance at banks and was an especially devoted follower and worker with the Credit Union movement. Margaret is survived by a son, Pastor Robert O. Manthei of Lancaster, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George and Robert (World War II veteran aviator shot down over Germany); and sister, DeLin Wagner. Margaret was also preceded in death by her husband, Otto Manthei, with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage; and her husband, Dale L. Cox, whom she met at church and a condo community in North Palm Beach, Fla., and brought her to Pennsylvania and sadly passed away after a couple of years. A committal service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009.
