Copus, Judy A. BROOKLYN-Judy A. Copus, age 68, of Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009, as a result of an accident. She was born on Feb. 18, 1941, in Rice Lake, the daughter of the late Clifford "Tootie" and Esther (Coleman) Anderson. Judy graduated from Rice Lake High School. She married Jim Copus on Aug. 30, 1958, in Rice Lake. Judy was a devoted, passionate, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very active in her childrens and grandchildrens lives. Judy was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Brooklyn and was a NASCAR fan. She is survived by her husband, Jim of Brooklyn, children, Dawn Copus, Steve (Monique) Copus, all of Brooklyn, Denyse (Kevin) Behnke, Jeff (Carmen) Copus, Scott (Christine) Copus, and Mark (Kerry) Copus, all of Oregon; grandchildren, Joshua (Shanna) and Jeremiah (Kelsey) Tilley, Kendell (Kimberly) and Jimmy Copus, Ryan and Taylor Behnke, and Autumn, Austin, Sydney, Hayley, Dalton and Logan Copus; great-grandchildren, Nina, Amara and Mason Tilley, and Hayden and Alexis Copus; brother, Harry "Sonny" Anderson of Black Earth; sister, Cindy Anderson of Evansville; two sisters-in-law, Pat Olson of Cumberland, and Judy (Duane) Pieper of Barronett; her 99 year old godmother, Grace Youngblood; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at PEOPLES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 Alpine Parkway, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, with the Rev. Gail Brown presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009. There was no one more devoted to her family than Judy. Sitting and listening to Grace talk of Judy Ann and all the wonderful memories she had to share with me of how Judy helped her and others made me admire her even though I never personally met Judy. For Judy to lose her life in such a senseless, tragic accident is so profoundly sad. We admired her strength, love and dedication to Jim and her children and grandchildren. I knew Judy since she was a child in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Though there were years between seeing her again after we moved away until coming back to Indiana. I was so saddened to hear of her death. She was so full of life and so loved by Aunt Grace and Lois and her own family. My heart goes out to them.
