Obituary
Lauck, Ruth Irene Sorenson MADISON-Ruth Irene Sorenson Lauck, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. She was born on Oct. 19, 1922, the daughter of Hans and Hannah Sorenson. Ruth grew up on Madisons East Side where Hans designed and built many of the historic bungalow homes in the Marquette neighborhood. The Sorenson family was an asset to the community and now a generation gone. Ruth played ball in the 30s with the Kennedy Milkmaids and was an avid bowler. She worked at the Kroger Office, Fauerbach Foods and Lens Supermarket on Jenifer St. Ruth raised her children and mentored their friends with love and generosity, always helping others. Her kindness will live on in every life she touched. Ruth will be missed. She is survived by her four children, Bruce Lauck, Steve Lauck, Diane (Dan) Howe, and Donna (Jeff) Bedermann; and her beloved grandchildren, Ben Howe, Ryan Howe, Crystal Bedermann, Aaron Bedermann and Joseph Bedermann. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved eight brothers and sisters; and her loving husband, George. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2009, with Chaplain Valerie Cappozzo presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank HospiceCare and especially Homestead Living in Waunakee for their exceptional care and support, for providing Ruth and her family with love, respect, joy and laughter in her last years. You have been a gift from God. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Centers 5203 Monona Drive (608) 221-5420 www.gundersonfh.com
