William R. 'Bill' Hansen

Hansen, William R. "Bill" SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON-William R. "Bill" Hansen, age 83, of Sun Prairie, formerly of Madison, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Sun Prairie. He was born on March 16, 1926, in Madison, the son of Albert and Viola (McWatty) Hansen. Bill married Janice Regez on Oct. 18, 1952, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. He was formerly employed at U. W. Hospital and Whalen Transfer. Bill was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. He enjoyed ushering at all the Badgers sporting events. Bill is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Tom (Gail) Hansen of Madison, Dick Hansen of Madison, Eileen (Scott) Robbins of Fall River, Linda (Rick) Neeman of Brownsville, Minn., and Karen Hansen of Madison; nine grandchildren; cousins, Mary Jo Lang, Jerry and Sylvia Belknapp; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Nancy; and sister, Jean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, at noon on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, with Monsignor Duane Moellenbrendt presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Care Wisconsin, Alzheimer's Association of Dane County or Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church.
