Yolanda Lucille Swenson (Baumgartner)

Swenson, Yolanda Lucille (Baumgartner) PAOLI/MADISON ?? Yolanda Lucille (Baumgartner) Swenson, age 89, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born on Dec. 31, 1919, in Monroe, the daughter of Daniel and Maude (Hayes) Harrington. Yolanda married Conrad Baumgartner on Dec.16, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1971. Yolanda married Milo J. Swenson on Oct. 9, 1976, in Madison. Yolanda worked in cheese making for Pabst Farms for many years . She worked for the state of Wisconsin in maintenance for 21 years until her retirement in 1985. Yolanda was a member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ in Paoli. She was also a member of the Senior Choir for 12 years at the Monona Senior Center. Yolanda was an avid teddy bear collector, and had collected more than 200 teddy bear items over the years. She also was an excellent cook and loved to shop with her husband Milo. Yolanda found new independence when she learned to drive later in life. She was always on the go. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was proud of all of their accomplishments. Yolanda is survived by her husband of 33 years, Milo; sons, Larry Baumgartner of Verona, and Gene (Sharon) Baumgartner of Sun Prairie; daughters, Gail (Douglas) Dahlk of Belleville, and Beth (David) Ammerman of Evansville; a stepson, Craig A. (Marie) Swenson of Madison; 13 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mike Baumgartner of Verona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Conrad Baumgartner; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Baumgartner; three brothers, Weldon, Elmer and Leon Harrington; and two sisters, Luella Banahoski and Sarah Brennan. Funeral services will be held at ZWINGLI UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 1338 County Trunk PB, Paoli, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009, with the Rev. Sara Thiessen presiding. Burial will follow at Paoli Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2009, and at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
