Dahlman, Frances Jeannette "Jenny"
MADISON/MONONA-Jenny Dahlman, age 104, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009. She was born on July 24, 1904, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Carolyn (Long) DieMar. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1922. She worked as a secretary for Champion Paper Company in Hamilton. Jenny married George Dahlman on Oct. 16, 1944. In 1951, they moved their family to Monona. Frances was a 41-year colon cancer survivor. She was a Charter Member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a member of St. Anns Alter Society. After the death of her husband in 1992, Jenny moved to Dempsey Manor and then joined St. Dennis Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting afghans and going out for dinner. She loved visiting and spending time with her family. Jenny enjoyed many cups of coffee with good friends. In earlier years, she enjoyed camping and hiking with her husband. Jenny was a woman of strength, love and embraced change. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Robert) McKee of Fitchburg and Patricia (James) Cords of McFarland; sons-in-law, Bill Bates of Broadhead and Don (Sue) Doyle of Brooklyn; 16 grandchildren, Lynn (Wendell) Egeness, Diane (Kurt) Miller, Terry Brundish, Joy (Jeff) Gunderson, Mike Bates, Dan (Emily) Bates, Mary Ann Doyle, Teresa Doyle, John Doyle, Kathy (Jeff Horney) Doyle-Horney, Patty (Jeff) George, Donna (Roger) Sorenson, Cheryl (Tom) Chanos, Rob (Sherry) McKee, Tony (Kristie) Cords and Becky (Wes) Maertz; 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Dahlman; daughters, Jeanne Doyle and Jo Bates. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009, with the Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church, St. Marys Care Center or to the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to all the care givers at St. Marys Care Center.
