Obituary
Zimmerman, TerryMADISON -Terry Zimmerman, age 74, of Verona, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Madison. He was born on Feb. 23, 1935, in Madison, the son of Lloyd and June (Evans) Zimmerman. Terry married Sandra Spraetz on Oct. 9, 1953. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in fine arts. He served in the United States Army with the occupation forces in Germany; he served as an alderman of the Third Ward and held positions in sales and sales management during his employment years. He greatly loved his family and possessed a unique lust for life. Among his many passions were camping, hiking, skiing, tennis, golf, genealogy, traveling, the arts and music. His travels and employment took him to Georgia in 1978, where he and Sandra resided for 30 years before returning to their roots in Wisconsin. Terry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra; daughters, Lynne Greco of Durango, Colo., and Renee (Brian) Raffel of Verona; sons, Jeff (Joette) Zimmerman of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Chris (Laura) Zimmerman of Alpharetta, Ga., and Mark (Karen) Zimmerman of Holly Springs, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, Chad Zimmerman, Christine Paisant, Emily Cardarella, Eric Zimmerman, Nick Cardarella, Zachary Zimmerman, Kelson Raffel, Michael Sparano, Kinsey Zimmerman, Carly Sparano, Ashlyn Raffel, Marissa Zimmerman and Bryce Raffel; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Zimmerman, Mason Zimmerman, Lily Paisant and Emery Paisant; a brother, Don (Eunice) Zimmerman of McFarland; three brothers-in-law, Webb Spraetz, Doug Spraetz and Ken Spraetz, and their wives; eight nieces, four nephews and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Evan of Augusta. There will be an open house on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m., at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Brian and Renee Raffel, 2295 Spring Rose Road, Verona, Wis.
