Wallace 'Wally' Berg

Berg, Wallace "Wally" MADISON/MCFARLAND-Wallace "Wally" Berg, age 77, of McFarland, formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on Dec. 31, 1931, in Madison, the son of Mervin and Sena (Mickelson) Berg. Wally graduated from Madison East High School in 1950. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Tokyo. Wally married Helen Yttri on Oct. 24, 1958, in Madison. He worked at Gisholt for 34 years, retiring in 1991. Wally was a member of VFW Post No. 8483. He loved spending time with his granddaughters, and enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and euchre with his family and the ladies at the Cottages. Wally was an avid golfer, and Packers and Brewers fan. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Brian) Campbell; and granddaughters, Lauren and Erin Campbell. Wally was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents; brother, Bob Berg; sister, Vivian Prideaux; and brother-in-law, Stan Prideaux. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2009, with the Rev. Jerry Pribbenow presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
