Sheahan, James "Jimbo" FrancisMADISON-James "Jimbo" Francis Sheahan, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, died Tuesday, June 30, with his family at his side. Born July 13, 1929, Jimbo was born in Superior, Wis. He joined the seminary as a young man, planning to spend his life as a priest, but instead married and had seven children. He retired from the railroad and moved to Madison in 1992, where he continued to work into his 70s at CUNA Inc. Jimbo had a fun-loving, adventurous spirit and a wide range of interests. He was a devout Catholic, world traveler, surprisingly nimble bowler, talented writer, dedicated family man" and loyal Brothers Three patron who'd regale all with spirited "soliloquies." Jimbo is survived by his sister Kay; his children Mary Linda Ward, Jimmy (Vicki), Tommy, Danny, Kathy (Mark), Jeanne Patterson (Paul), and Sandy (Don); and grandchildren Cassie, Jordan, Amber, Mandy, Rachel, Amy, Jerry, Nina, Christopher, and Danielle, plus 12 great grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 1 p.m. with Father Lance Schneider presiding.
