Guethlein, Marion A. (Larsen)\r\n MONONA - Marion A. (Larsen) Guethlein, age 78, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, following a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 22, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Edward Mayer and Pauline (Schober) Mayer. Marion graduated in 1948 from Cedarburg High School. She married Walter Larsen on Oct. 20, 1951. While raising her family, she was very active at her children\'s schools. When her children were grown, Marion began her office manager career working for B.T.U. Equipment, Climatic Control, and finally retiring from Bassett Mechanical. She was a very active member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, and had a deep love for her family, friends and church. Marion was also a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary No. 7591. She enjoyed playing bingo and pull tabs. In 1983 Marion married Lee Guethlein and he preceded her in death in 2000. Marion is survived by her children, David Larsen, Mary (Ken) Pronschinske, Greg (Lisa) Larsen, and Dan (Jacque Plowman) Larsen, all of Madison; grandchildren, Tim Larsen, Kristin Larsen (Chad Adler), Kaitlin and Matthew Pronschinske, and Cass Plowman-Larsen, all of Madison; a great-grandchild, Makenzie Adler; a special friend, Wally Cleven; a brother, Larry (Judy) Mayer of Elkhorn; a stepbrother, Don Duensing of Oak Creek; a stepsister, Janet Trachte of Cudahy; and a sister-in-law, Mary Larsen of Waunakee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Walter Larsen in 1981 and Lee Guethlein in 2000, sister, Florence Mayer; brother, Earl Mayer; and a stepbrother, Ray Duensing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens at 9:30 a..m. on Monday. Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church, or to the donor\'s choice.
